When animated band Prozzak arrived on the scene in 1998, a Canadian musical phenomenon was born. Comprised of the animated duo of Simon and Milo, Prozzak was the brainchild of Jay Levine and James Bryan McCollum, two members of the critically acclaimed multi-platinum act The Philosopher Kings. Their debut album, “Hotshow”(Sony) followed Simon’s constant (and largely unsuccessful) search for love around the globe, set to hook laden infectious dance/pop songs .It was a commercial and critical blockbuster, selling close to 5 times platinum, producing  chart topping videos, including 2 number ones (“Sucks to be you”, and “Strange Disease”), as well as being nominated for 5 Juno awards.(the Canadian Grammys ) .  Prozzak also made an impact internationally, in the US, where the video for “Sucks to be you” was a buzzclip on MTV2, and had top 40 hits in Spain (“Hotshow”), and Turkey (“Strange Disease”).

In 2000, Prozzak released their second album, “Saturday People”, which also went platinum and was nominated for a Juno award for best pop album. Jay and James then took a few years to focus on individual projects and production work including Fefe Dobson’s platinum debut album(Island/Universal) , but when the guys decided to sit down and do some writing in 2004 Prozzak was brought back to life  .The result was  the release of the duos thirds album “Cruel Cruel World”. With an edgier but very danceable sound, and an evolved, slightly darker look for Simon and Milo, the result is unmistakably still Prozzak .
